Walking along the beautiful coastline at the break of dawn, immersing in the rich history and astounding architecture during the day and a buzzing and lively nightlife in the evenings, Cambodia is a traveler’s paradise.

Along with agriculture, tourism is one of the most important sectors in Cambodia, which has seen a steady growth every year. In 2013 the number of business travelers alone increased by almost 50%. With all the data dumped by the internet on travels, it is still difficult to find a credible travel agent that provides A class services and thoroughly focuses on customer experience. Absolute Holidays located in Pulchowk founded by Mr. Ravin Man Bajracharya is an exception. Bajracharya has vast experience in the hospitality business after years of involvement in tourism. A travel companion by choice, a restaurateur and photographer at heart, very few people in the Nepali market are as thorough and dedicated as he is in the travel industry. When asked how he would summarize a typical package tour by Absolute, he gives a clear-cut answer: “We are well prepared, detailed to the last d, we make the experience of the travelers memorable and hassle free so much so that at the Cambodian border while our agents are taking care of visa formalities, the travelers are sipping on chilled beer.” With travel agencies being established a dime a dozen this is one agency that focuses on customer service and steadfastly delivers on their promises.  He adds, “The market has become acutely competitive, the number of agencies doing out-bound travel is increasing every day, so each day we work hard to be on top of our game and provide customer satisfaction.”

A private tour of 3 days and 2 nights customized by Absolute Holiday package at SIEM REAP would look like:

DAY 1: Poi Pet - Siem Reap

Chauffer pick up at Poipet Border and where you will be met by a tour guide assisting you around the clock and transferred to Siam Reap. After checking in you take a boat trip to visit daily life of local people living on Floating Village, which is also one of the biggest fresh water lakes in South East Asia. The vicinity has Tonle Sap Lake, Floating Market, Floating House, Floating School etc. On the way back, you stop at Central Market and some interesting local Souvenir Shops in Siem Reap Town. A seasoned Cambodian guide along with a senior representative from Absolute Holidays is by the vacationer’s side throughout. “The service we received was absolutely top class. Somehow they always had the right combination of things. From hotel selections to internal travels everything was smooth. All we did was have a great time,” says Kumar Prasad Dahal, one of the guests.

DAY 2 in Siem Reap Sightseeing is a power packed day highlighting and living the old city’s feel.

After a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel, visit ANGKOR THOM - The great city that is around 830 years old. The historic town was built from 1180-1220 AD by a great Khmer King Jayavarman VII dedicated to Buddhism. An architectural marvel Angkor Thom has been breaking its own record each year, on an average each day around 6,500 tourists visit, in the year 2014 it was a whopping 2.35 million visitors. For pop culture reference the Hollywood movie featuring Angeline Jolie “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” featured Angkor Thom. Recently it has been a popular location choice for other movies and novels too. “Absolute Holidays are very professional and know how to add a personal touch; Absolute Holidays is absolutely amazing,” exclaims Ramesh Kumar Khadka another guest.

Then continue to visit an incredible jungle temple, TA PHROM – a sacred destination, which was built in 1186 AD by great King Jayavarman VII dedicated to Buddhism. Ta Phrom is a dynamic mélange of nature and man made art, running through its jungles. Ta Phrom is beautiful beyond measure; it is one of those rare sights where nature has intertwined with architecture perfectly.

Just by looking at a photo one can glace the magnificence of this place. A rare inscription at the temple provides data on the temple’s workforce. It is believed that around 80,000 people including 2700 officials and 615 dances were on standby for the King which is however rubbished by some saying the statistics were exaggerated to please the king.  Sadly, Ta Phrom is significantly ruined, it has been looted repeatedly in recent years and much of the ancient stone reliquaries have been stolen or destroyed. Despite that travelers can explore various towers and regal courtyards.

Absolute Holidays then takes you to visit a magnificent archaeological wonder of the ancient world, ANGKOR WAT - the temple complex which is 900 years old. It is the biggest religious monument in the world, which was built by King Suryavarman II in 12th century dedicated to Vishnu. This site is one of the major attractions for visitors and is credited as the top reason why more than 50% of international tourists come to Cambodia. Walking around the temple ruins, one will wonder and think about the once great civilization built and lost here.

Fact #1

Angkor Wat is unusually oriented to the west, a direction typically associated with death in Hindu culture. Archaeologists and scholars disagree as to why the ancient builders chose to deviate from the ‘norm’ at the time.

Fact #2

Bas-reliefs at Angkor Wat read counterclockwise, another indication that the temple is associated with funeral rituals.

Fact #3

Angkor Wat shifted from Hindu to Buddhist use sometime around the late 13th century. The temple is still used by Buddhists today.

After filling your day with history, culture and art, the reps from Absolute Holidays transport you to a Cambodian Dance Show. Nabaraj Dhungana another guest added “It was a very well planned trip; it is not always just the fun part for me. We were informed about natural resources; country’s economic scenario. Our day started with going deep into the history and ended on a light note at the dance show, the MD Ravin was more of a friend than a representative.” After all this the travelers see the sunset from Phnom Bakheng that looks like a seamless spot where the earth meets the sky.
