When did you know you wanted to become a fashion designer?
When I was designing for my first fashion show and my first sketch came to life, in particular the blue raw silk gown, I fell in love with it. That’s when I realized I loved what I was doing and wanted to pursue my passion as a fashion designer.

What is fashion to you?
The basics of fashion isn’t just about looking impeccable, it starts with the depth of simple colors and imagination. Fashion to me is looking great as it reflects your personality, being comfortable and should boost your confidence. So in my perspective, fashion exists everywhere.

In your opinion, what’s the difference between fashion and style?
Comfort and style can go hand in hand without any compromise. But if I had to choose, I would choose comfort over style because if you’re not comfortable, you will neither feel good nor confident no matter how stylish you look.

Most valuable piece of clothing that you’ve ever purchased.
My wedding lehenga, designer sarees, intricate stone-work gown and coats.

In this winter season, what are the three things any girl should have?
Warm coat, comfy boots and stylish scarf or muffler.

An outfit you wouldn’t mind wearing every day.
I’m most comfortable in cotton tops and khakis.

That one celebrity that you wish you could swap wardrobes with.
Angelina Jolie. She’s my all-time favorite. She can carry off all types of attires with finesse. Be it casual, formal or cocktail gowns, she’s the epitome of elegance, grace and style.

Your biggest fashion pet peeve.
None in particular since there’s an essence of art and creativity in every fashion statement. It varies from preferring simplicity to being eccentric.

Brands you would never say no to.
Burberry, Gucci, Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, D&G, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, John Galliano and Guess.

Advice to women on styling themselves.
Love yourself and your figure. Every individual has strengths and weaknesses regardless what body type you belong to. Accentuate your strengths to build your self-confidence. For example; vertical line clothing helps you look slimmer and taller. For casual look this winter would be: warm skinny jeans with fitting sweater, long coats along with a stole or muffler and comfy stylish boots. Leather jackets will go with any attire, even with traditional wear. You can team up accessories like bracelets, earrings, necklaces, watches, shades, perfume and nail art.

Advice to men on styling themselves.
For men you need to understand what suits you and what doesn’t. For winter casual look you can pair up plaid flannel shirt with V-neck sweater or cardigan and dark to light hues of corduroy pants along with loafers or converse. For a sophisticated and suave look we have tuxedos, watches, belts, cufflinks and most importantly cologne. If you walk into a room smelling good, you give a good impression.

Do you keep up with current fashion trends?
Yes. I love fashion. New creations are my medium of inspiration and when you are inspired, you are more passionate and productive. The world is changing fast and fashion is one of the fastest, it is fun playing with creativity and art since it always brings excitement and you can learn a lot from it.

Any tips as a fashion designer?
