Sameer Singh Chetri has been involved in many entrepreneurial projects after graduating from the US and returning to Nepal. He first opened the "Miraj Riverside Village Resort" in Gaidakot, Nawalparasi, but the young entrepreneur is also a fashion designer by interest and a fashion event coordinator. Chetri talks about his fashion code, style, shopping destination and gives some fashion tips.

What is fashion to you?

For me, fashion is a unique trend that people follow according to the time frame. I will describe it as something that expresses the entire personality of a person.

Describe your personal style in three words.

Classic, trendy and vintage.

What is your go-to-style choice for formal and informal events?

For formal events, I prefer my style to be ‘Vintage’ and more of a classic touch in dressing, where as for informal events, my style is most often trendy but again with a touch of classic in that as well.

What would we find in excess in your wardrobe?

I am more of a formal kind of person and thus one will find the maximum number of suits in my wardrobe. However, for vacation trips or other meetings, I also do carry some casual shirts and scarves.

Which are some of your favorite places to shop?

Natraj- The Boutique, GB Brummell, The Regal Inc., Chanel, Saks Fifth Avenue, Burberry and Gucci. These stores meet my expectations to the fullest.

Designer watches, genuine leather belts, designer sunglasses, classic leather shoes, a fine tuxedo.

How do you usually accessorize your look?

I usually accessorize my look wearing a designer watch that adds a subtle elegance to my attire, a ring, sunglasses and also carrying a vintage leather bag to carry all my essentials.

One thing that makes you look sexy?

It’s my Belgium round-cut diamond stud earring that I always wear.

A favorite color that is prominent in your wardrobe?

Shades of blue and white.

Who would you want to swap your wardrobe with?

I would love to swap my clothing with my best friend Sanzay Chhetry. I admire his athletic, classy style which people hardly see me in.

Most experimental outfit you have worn?

My self-designed shiny brocade sherwani coat which I got tailored for my cousin's wedding. I looked like a groom myself (laughs).

Personality tips for young men aiming to be stylish.

Everyone has a unique personality. Therefore, when choosing your style, you should always go with something that reflects your true personality. The bottom line is that it’s okay to be inspired by someone else's style. However it's a big ‘No’ when it comes to copying others’ style.
