Rinjin Gurung is a passionate fashion enthusiast who has always been inspired by the creative and innovative world of fashion. Currently studying in Kings College undergoing her BBA degree, Rinjin completed her A levels in humanities from British College and is always on the lookout for the latest trends and styles from designer collections to street style. Foraying into the fashion industry at the age of fifteen back in 2019 with a shoot for DS Collection, Rinjin is today open to experimenting new opportunities with modelling and fashion in her leisure time. What is fashion to you?
For me, fashion is a form of self- expression and creativity through clothing and accessories. It is a way individuals choose to present themselves to the world, highlighting their personality and style. Overall, fashion is a tool for self-expression, communication, and identity.
What is your source for acquainting yourself with new trends in fashion?
There are various sources where I can keep up with latest trends in fashion such as fashion magazines, fashion websites, fashion blogs, fashion weeks, social media platforms, and designer collections. Personally, I have a social influencer background so I follow industry influencers and designers on social media and this can also be a wonderful way to stay updated on the latest fashion trends.
Long boots paired with a coat can be a stylish and practical outfit choice for spring. The boots provide coverage and protection from cooler spring weather, while the coat adds warmth and extra layers.
Who is your influencer for your personal style? Do you believe your taste in fashion has changed over the years?
I do not have a specific influencer that I follow but I love the fashion sense of Kylie Jenner. Her style is a perfect blend of edgy, glam, and casual. She has a keen eye for detail and knows how to make the most of her curves with her outfits. Her wardrobe is filled with statement pieces, from skin-tight outfits to oversized denim jackets.
Many people say that their taste in fashion changes as they grow older and experience different things in life. Some might start to prefer more classic styles, while others may opt for bolder and trendier pieces. But to me, this never changed. I go for some casual looks with a touch of glam in it.
How would you define your personal style?
I like to define my personal style as casual with a touch of glam in it. The key is to balance comfort and style, creating an overall look that is both easy-going and polished. This style is perfect for those who enjoy dressing up but do not want to sacrifice comfort. I go with a Cami top with a pair of jeans and an oversized shirt with it as my go to outfit. I love to wear bright colours compared to the nude ones.
What according to you are autumn outfits all about?
Autumn outfits are all about layering and transitioning from warm to cooler weather. It is a time to incorporate warm colours such as oranges, yellows, and browns into your wardrobe. The autumn season is a time to experiment with different textures, colours, and styles, while still being practical and comfortable in cooler temperatures. Overall, autumn outfits are all about versatility, comfort, and style.
A long sleeveless dress is an excellent choice for a spring outfit as it is light, airy and perfect for the warmer weather. It allows for comfortable movement and air flow, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Sleeveless dresses can also be dressed up or down, making them versatile and suitable for a range of occasions.
What is your go to style choice for formal and informal events?
For formal outfit I would like to pair a bright coloured top with a formal pant and add my fitting blazer. I prefer wearing fitting outfits as compared to the oversized ones because it makes you look smarter and bolder. I will pair this outfit with heels, a clean hairstyle, watch and a small earring.
For informal outfit, I normally go for shorts, Cami top and oversized shirts. I love wearing sneakers or vans, add some accessories and a cute little bag pack.
In both formal and informal events, it is important to stay true to one's personal style and to choose outfits that make them feel confident and comfortable. Accessories such as statement jewellery, clutches, and shoes can also be used to add extra flair to any outfit.
One style item you would never wear?
I normally try experimenting unique styles and one of my least favourite outfits was the rocky jeans.
Who would you want to swap your wardrobe with?
If I ever got the opportunity to swap my wardrobe then it would be Anxhelina or Catherine Paiz.
What would we find in excess in your wardrobe?
I love wearing crop tops and Cami tops so, you will find a lot of crop tops in my wardrobe.

Most experimental outfit you have worn?
I like combining traditional elements with jeans which can create a unique and experimental outfit. I have paired a traditional embroidered tunic with ripped or distressed jeans and created a unique and eye-catching look. The mix of textures and styles adds interest and can create a playful and unexpected outfit.

One of the most important aspects of modelling is confidence. Work on developing a positive self-image and practice posture, walk, and facial expressions to exude confidence during photoshoots and runway shows. Displaying your versatility and range as a model can help you stand out and attract more clients. Work on developing your portfolio to include unique styles, poses, and looks to demonstrate your versatility and range. Always arrive on time, be prepared, and have a good attitude. Building relationships in the industry is crucial to success.
